Lockdown Drill – Keeping Our School Community Safe
As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the safety of everyone in our school community, all staff recently took part in a practice lockdown drill after school hours.
Over the coming weeks, we will be working sympathetically and sensitively with pupils on a class-by-class basis to help them understand what to do in the unlikely event of a lockdown. These sessions will be carefully designed to avoid causing any distress, but your child may wish to talk to you about what they’ve learned.
While we hope we never need to use these procedures, it’s important that everyone knows how to respond to stay safe.
We’ll also be sending home a letter outlining our lockdown procedures—so you know what to expect, how we’ll keep your child safe, and the important part you play in keeping everyone safe.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
