Welcome to Class 10A
My name is Mrs Gifford, I am class tutor for class 10A. The teaching assistant attached to our class is Mrs Lamb. In year 10 we start work on getting a range of qualifications including units of accreditation, entry level certificates and some students take the option to work towards gaining a GCSE in Art or expressive Arts.
During Year 10, some students will have a work experience, trips to college and take part in a number of performances, sporting events and curriculum visits such as the visit to the Newsroom, where they will create a front page of a newspaper using TED and FRED. TED is the text editor used by journalists who work for the Evening Chronicle and other newspapers. FRED is the frame editor. You will learn more about this later in the year.
